Looking for things to do alone in Brisbane as a single?
Sure, it can be great to explore new places as a couple and there are plenty of great date ideas in Brisbane but there are also so many amazing things to do by yourself in Brisbane.
If you are doing some solo travel or even if you are a local single looking for something fun to do – we have you covered with the best activities for singles in Brisbane.
Things to do alone in Brisbane
Sunset paddle along the Brisbane River – You can do this with a group of friends but it is also sooo fun to kayak or canoe the Brisbane river alone. What I really love about this is how much time it gives you to think and really soak in the scenery and the magical Brisbane skyline. When you are traveling or with others, so often you are chatting and just don’t have the time to soak in the beauty of the place and really enjoy the moment. If you don’t have a kayak, you can rent one and do the twilight kayak tour at RiverLife Brisbane.
Story Bridge Climb – Climbing the story bridge is one of the most fun and iconic activities in Brisbane. As you go out with a tour, you can do this alone or with friends. There are plenty of singles who do the story bridge climb so it is a great way to meet new people in your own city.
Broncos game at Suncorp Stadium – Heaps of people cheer on the Broncos alone. Many of these have partners at home who simply don’t appreciate the game like they do. It is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a good game of footy with a round of ice cold XXX on tap. Life doesn’t get much better than that!
Enjoy a drink in some of Brisbane’s best bars and clubs – Brisbane has some great bars and clubs so not matter if it is daytime or nighttime there is always a good place to drink in Brisbane. We would recommend the Merthyr Bowls Club for some good cheap drinks during the day or hit Fortitude Valley (The Valley) for some after dark singles fun. Down Under Bar is also a great place if you want to meet people during the day or night.

Haunted Brisbane Tour – There are some really fun tours to go on as a single in Brisbane and this is definitely one of the best. You don’t need to be in a group to enjoy the Haunted Brisbane Tour in fact it is far more spooky if you go it alone. This 1.5 hour walking tour through Ghost Tours Australia, is sure to add some excitement to your night.
The Westin Brisbane Swim up Bar – A fun place to go if you are alone in Brisbane and you want to meet people as they host regular pool parties.
Jan Powers Farmers Markets – Spend the day at the Jan Powers Farmers Markets exploring products from local vendors. 90% of people who visit Farmers Markets are lone wolfs so you won’t at all feel out of place here! If you want to visit, wake up early because they’re open from 6am to 12 noon. Each market does have different days of operation, with Powerhouse being open every Saturday, Mitchelton being open the first Sunday of each month, and Manly being open the first and third and Saturday of every month.
Cenote Casa bathhouse – Now I don’t know about you but I just LOVE some private R&R alone time. If you are in that boat, the Cenote Casa Bathhouse is where you need to be. They offer several options from DIY facemasks to complete solitude with their private bathhouse session. This bathhouse offers a magnesium plunge pool, steam room infused with essential oils, hot rock sauna, hydrotherapy heated spa, outdoor shower, and multiple lounge areas.
Brisbane Distillery – Gin school so you can make and bottle your very own gin. A perfect activity to do by yourself.

You could always go for a stroll by yourself and see this near QUT

Lone Pine Sanctuary – If you are a tourist in Brisbane, you simply can’t miss Lone Pine. Get up close and personal with some of Australian’s best wildlife. Take a slow and relaxing walk around the sanctuary engaging with the animals and exhibits. Stop for a bite to eat at the café then hand feed a kangaroo, and meet a koala.
Netherworld Old School Arcarde – A great place to go by yourself as there are tonnes of cool arcade games to occupy your time.
