Bonza Airlines Routes – Are Cheap $9 Fares Coming to You Soon?

Sharing is caring!

[Edit: 27 January 2023 – $9 flights are not on the menu boys and girls. Just launched today – prices are below]

There is much anticipation for the arrival of Bonza Airline, the new ultralowcost airline in Australia.

This independent airline is aiming to make regional travel more available, eliminating the need for connecting flights via major cities.

The majority of Bonza Airline‘s routes are shorthaul, direct flights between rural centres, which gives the airline an advantage with little to no competition and more fuel efficiency to keep costs low.

This is great news for the onethird of Australians living in rural areas, providing them with more access between points A and B.

Additionally, those in major cities such as Melbourne have the opportunity to explore rural travel with the airline‘s base there.

So where the bloody hell does Bonza fly?

You can find more information by downloading the Bonza app.

If you’re anything like me you already have a million and one apps cloggin’ up your phone.

Who wants to download another app just to find that your town isn’t serviced?!

FAQs

Is Bonza Airlines flying now?

No. Despite plans to lift off in late 2022 the aircraft has set off yet.

Where will Bonza Airline fly?

Bonza will initially offer 27 routes servicing rural destinations in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.

When is Bonza Airline starting?

Bonza Airline has not yet confirmed when flights will begin, but they are expected to launch at the end of 2022.

Since it’s now 2023, that target wasn’t hit.

Is Bonza owned by Qantas?

No, the airline was founded by Tim Jordan, a former Virgin Blue executive, alongside Lydia Valenzuela and Peter McNally, and is independently owned and funded by Miamibased 777 Partners.

Speaking of Qantas, here’s how to join their Frequent Flyer program for free.

Will baggage and seat selection be included in the ticket price?

No, Bonza Airline does not include baggage and seat selection in the flight price. Customers must purchase these services separately.

What aircraft does Bonza use?

Bonza Airline currently uses a fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft which makes it a young fleet. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 was unveiled in 2017 and first entered service in 2018.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is a twin-engine, single-aisle aircraft that is designed to be the most fuel-efficient aircraft in its class. It features advanced aerodynamics, engines and systems to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and provide a smoother ride. Additionally, it is equipped with the latest in cabin features, including advanced lighting, more efficient air circulation and improved soundproofing.

How much will Bonza flights cost?

No prices have been published yet, so we’re speculating here.

We’re betting on opening specials of $9. After all, it’s already been confirmed their base rate doesn’t include any bag allowance or frills.

This would bring it into line with opening offers for Australia’s previous low cost carriers like Tiger Airways (no defunct) and Virgin Australia (which has now repositioned to a full service airline).

But in 2023, with rapid inflation down under maybe at $9 I’m still living in the Noughties and $49 will be the new $9.

How much do you think the ‘opening special’ fares will be? Let us know in the comments below. The lucky winner will get a “that’s gold” thumbs up from the Aussie Tourist.

For Australians, Bonza Airline‘s flights offer an easier way of accessing holiday destinations with greater convenience.

Tell me more about Bonza Airline in the comments below will you be flying any of the airline‘s routes?
