Best Cafes in Mooloolaba

The Velo Project

Address: 19 Careela Street, Mooloolaba, QLD

If you are happy to explore more of what Mooloolaba has to offer, we would suggest visiting the Velo Project, a hidden gem in this paradise beach town and one of the most popular cafes among locals.

If it not located on the Mooloolaba esplanade like many of the cafes in the precinct which mean that many tourists don’t go there. However, it is well worth the walk or short drive from wherever you live or are staying.

Not only do the local owners serve extremely good quality food made from local produce but the coffee is of an exceptionally high level.

The cafe has a hipster vibe which is really fun too.

Open: Monday – Sunday: 7:00AM – 2:00PM

Bomba Coffee House

Address: 21 Burnett St, Mooloolaba QLD 4557

Another great place and a fan favourite with locals again in Mooloolaba is the Bomba Coffee House. There is a seriously cool vibe there AND it makes a great cup of coffee. It’s motto of “coffee and chills” really sums up the place nicely!

Again, this coffee shop is located slightly off the Mooloolaba esplanade and doesn’t have an ocean view to enjoy your daily cup, but the vibe and coziness of this hipster cafe is well worth it.

Inside are some cool touches like artwork you can buy from local artists and tables that you can doodle on. If you feel like a cheap breakfast there is a make your own toast station. All coffee some with a free chocolate sprinkle which always gets me in!

Open: Best for the early birds as it is only open to 11am daily.

Bomba Coffee House

Beach Bar and Grill

Address: Shop 11, Landmark Resort Cnr Burnett Street & The Esplanade Mooloolaba, QLD 4557

If you want to enjoy coffee from an amazing vantage point, right above the Mooloolaba esplanade, this is the best place to do so. It is a bit of a hidden gem as most people sip coffee from the coffee shops right on the street without venturing up the stairs nearby which are easy to miss.

If you are looking for a place for brunch in Mooloolaba this is also a really good spot as the food is unreal. Unlike some of the cafes around Mooloolaba, the staff are also really nice and friendly so it’s just a really nice atmosphere all round.

Highly recommend. They also offer lunch and dinner menus with great specials like $19 steak night on a Tuesday which is always nice!

Open: Tues, Weds & Thurs 11..30am – Late Fri – Sat 11.30am – Late Sun 11.30am – 9.00pm

Beach Bar and Grill

Elevate Cafe

Address: 11 Mooloolaba Espl, Mooloolaba QLD 4557

If you want a coffee shop in Mooloolaba directly on the beach, this is my favourite place. It has great coffee, good service, good specials and good scones which are a hit with the locals. Even a few of the waiters are from the UK so you know the scones are the real deal …well maybe.

In any event, this shop serves the best cup of coffee on the Mooloolaba esplanade so if you want to just roll out of bed from wherever you are staying and grab a cup, this is a good choice.

Elevate Cafe

Bucking seahorse cafe

Address: shop 9/87 Mooloolaba Espl, Mooloolaba QLD 4557

If you want a quiet spot outside the hustle and bustle of Mooloolaba’s tourists, this is a great cafe. Popular amoung digital nomad locals who don’t want to be hurried away quickly to serve another guest. If you want to work for a while at a coffee shop in Mooloolaba, this is a good choice.

It probably comes at no surprise that this coffee shop is not located on Mooloolaba esplanade, the prime tourist strip and is just a few streets back.

Good coffee, relaxed service with less tourists and less fuss.
